The Techno 293 Class is devoted to fostering the development of windsurf racing for competitors under the age of 17 years old around the world through the promotion of an inexpensive racing format.” The above statement is a quote from the T293 Class Rules – Introduction. A simple analogy would be to see the T293 as the “Optimist” of the windsurfing classes.
The T293 Class underpins the International Windsurfing Association (IWA) Racing Structure – supporting the senior and youth programmes of both the International Formula and International Raceboard classes. Similarly the T293 Class forms part of the “Olympic Pathway”, recognised by ISAF as the feeder class to RS:X at Olympic and Youth level.

The International Funboard Class (IFCA) supported the establishment of this “junior” class to support its development programme for slalom and speed disciplines. The T293 Class began life as a “multi-brand” – national associations chose from a combination of OD and “open” equipment (2005-08 Class rules) or a combination of Bic Techno 293 One Design board, and choice of rigs (ie mast, boom and sail) from an Approved Rig List. From 2009 the Class has adopted One Design rules with the Bic One Design 6.8 and 7.8 sails, and rig adopted by the Class.

Lidmaatschap BABC 2021

Beste BABC-leden

Het BABC-bestuur wenst iedereen de beste wensen voor 2021. We hopen dan ook dat in 2021 alle wedstrijden kunnen plaatsvinden onder veilige coronavrije omstandigheden.

In 2020 moesten we spijtig genoeg tal van wedstrijden afgelasten vanwege de coronamaatregelen of door weersomstandigheden.  Voor 2021 hebben we terug alles in het werk gesteld om een mooie wedstrijdkalender in elkaar te steken.  In onderstaande link kan je de kalender 2021 terugvinden, hou rekening dat er nog altijd kleine aanpassingen kunnen gebeuren.

Op de website en facebook kan je alle info terugvinden.

Vanwege de coronamaatregelen zal er GEEN Algemene Vergadering met prijsuitreiking 2020 plaatsvinden. Maar we willen toch voor de klasses (Bic Techno, Raceboard en Kiteracing) waar wel een OBK heeft plaatsgevonden in 2020  de atleten in de picture plaatsen.  Dit zal gebeuren tijdens het eerste OBK 2021 van elke klasse en zal nog gecommuniceerd worden.

Voor 2020 zal er GEEN uitreiking van de wisselbekers ‘Honorary of the year’ – ‘Rookie of the year’ – ‘Club of the year’ plaatsvinden, omdat er veel internationale en nationale wedstrijden niet konden doorgaan.

In bijlage kunnen jullie het document  terugvinden voor betaling voor jullie lidmaatschap 2021. Voor 2022 zijn we genoodzaakt om het lidgeld op te trekken naar 25 €, aangezien de kosten voor internationale bijdrages ook de hoogte zijn gegaan.

Langs deze weg wensen wij jullie een sportief en windrijk 2021 !!

Cancelled Covid-19: BABC Raceboard Cup te Gavermeer (Harelbeke)

Opgelet! De raceboardwedstrijd van Gavermeer te Harelbeke op zaterdag 3 oktober wordt wegens coronamaatregelen ingeperkt tot een clubwedstrijd. De wedstrijd zal dus niet doorgaan als nationale wedstrijd en verdwijnt bijgevolg van de BABC Raceboard Cup kalender 2020. (PW)

Standby voor BK Bic Techno, Raceboard en Slalom Windsurfing van 26-27 Sep in De Haan. Tegen vrijdagavond geven we een GO of NO GO in functie van de eventuele weersomstandigheden.

Techno 293 Class Association announced Calendar 2021

The T293 and TPlus European Championships will be held in Tallinn, Estonia from 21st to 28th August 2021. Tallinn is not only known for its beautiful UNESCO World Heritage old town, but also (and most importantly for us), for its sailing. The city was the sailing venue during the 1980 Olympic Games and provides great conditions for racing.
Competitors coming for the Europeans will also have a chance to race in a TechnoFoil special event. 


We are also happy to announce, that after the cancelation of the 2020 World Championships, the host club at Circolo Surf Torbole has put forward their application to host the T293 2021 World Championships. We therefore will have a chance to race at the famous Garda lake once more. 


The 2021 T293 World Championships will take place from 23rd to 30th October 2021 and will be combined with a TechnoFoil special event.
We are also looking forward to the 2021 South American Windsurfing Championships â€“ Formula, Formula Foil, Techno 293, and T293 Plus, which will take place from 15th to 21st November 2021 in Rapel Lake, Chile.


Other continental championships, as well as a stand-alone World Championship for the TechnoPlus class, will be announced as soon as contracted.
