Important Notice

At present, there is considerable uncertainty regarding the water quality at the MaSurfSpot venue. In particular, the presence of cyanobacteria (commonly known as Blauwalgen) is negatively affecting the water conditions. While no official recreational ban has yet been issued, the likelihood that such a ban will be announced in the coming days is high. The health and safety of our participants and the community remain our highest priorities. After careful consideration and consultation with local environmental authorities, we have concluded that proceeding with the regatta under these circumstances would present an unacceptable risk.

Consequently, the Organizing Authority has decided that the OBK Kessenich will not take place at the Maasplassen in Kinrooi. The class representatives of Techno 293 and Raceboard have agreed to move the OBK to Ostend (Spuikom). However, due to the venue’s unavailability on Saturday, the event will be limited to a single day. Accordingly, the Notice of Race has been revised as outlined below.

We understand the disappointment this decision may cause, particularly for those who have dedicated significant time and effort in preparation for this event. We share your frustration and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Nonetheless, we have sought to provide you with a suitable alternative.
