Begin oktober 2020 organiseerde Sport Vlaanderen Nieuwpoort, WWSV en partners het allereerste foilfest op het spaarbekken.
FOILFEST: Kom op 3 en 4 oktober 2020 kennismaken met de wondere wereld van foiling
Een initiatief van Sport Vlaanderen Nieuwpoort en Wind & Watersport Vlaanderen.
Hydrofoiling is het varen op draagvleugels. Door onder het water vleugels te plaatsen komt je plank of boot bij een bepaalde snelheid uit het water. Hierdoor vermindert de weerstand en neemt de snelheid toe. De acceleratie en stilte als je plank of boot uit het water komt geeft een extra dimensie aan de beleving. Deze sport staat momenteel nog in z’n kinderschoenen maar beloofd heel wat mooi’s voor de toekomst van de watersport.

Cancelled Covid-19: BABC Raceboard Cup te Gavermeer (Harelbeke)
Opgelet! De raceboardwedstrijd van Gavermeer te Harelbeke op zaterdag 3 oktober wordt wegens coronamaatregelen ingeperkt tot een clubwedstrijd. De wedstrijd zal dus niet doorgaan als nationale wedstrijd en verdwijnt bijgevolg van de BABC Raceboard Cup kalender 2020. (PW)

Helaas zijn de weersomstandigheden niet geschikt om een veilige wedstrijd te organiseren. De combinatie van de sterke wind, regen & te aanlandige wind met hoge golven zullen voor te veel problemen zorgen. #safetyfirst

Standby voor BK Bic Techno, Raceboard en Slalom Windsurfing van 26-27 Sep in De Haan. Tegen vrijdagavond geven we een GO of NO GO in functie van de eventuele weersomstandigheden.
Techno 293 Class Association announced Calendar 2021
The T293 and TPlus European Championships will be held in Tallinn, Estonia from 21st to 28th August 2021. Tallinn is not only known for its beautiful UNESCO World Heritage old town, but also (and most importantly for us), for its sailing. The city was the sailing venue during the 1980 Olympic Games and provides great conditions for racing.
Competitors coming for the Europeans will also have a chance to race in a TechnoFoil special event.
We are also happy to announce, that after the cancelation of the 2020 World Championships, the host club at Circolo Surf Torbole has put forward their application to host the T293 2021 World Championships. We therefore will have a chance to race at the famous Garda lake once more.
The 2021 T293 World Championships will take place from 23rd to 30th October 2021 and will be combined with a TechnoFoil special event.
We are also looking forward to the 2021 South American Windsurfing Championships – Formula, Formula Foil, Techno 293, and T293 Plus, which will take place from 15th to 21st November 2021 in Rapel Lake, Chile.
Other continental championships, as well as a stand-alone World Championship for the TechnoPlus class, will be announced as soon as contracted.

REMINDER: CHANGE LOCATION OBK Racing & Slalom 5 & 6 September 2020 -> Spuikom Ostend
Due to organizational reasons the OBK that was scheduled on 5 & 6 Sep 2020 at Grevelingenmeer, Holland will take place at Spuikom, Ostend, BE. The club Inside-Outside will take over the organizational responsibilities from the club WVG Beervelde. As always, Slalom Windsurfing will only take place if a GO is published on www.babc.be. This will happen on Friday 4 Sep 17.00h for Saturday or Saturday 5 Sep 2020 17.00h for Sunday.

CANCELLATION NOTICE: RS:X Windsurfing YOUTH WORLDS 2020
ATTENTION!
The Executive Committee of International RS:X Class Association decided to CANCEL the 2020 RS:X Windsurfing YOUTH WORLD Championships due to the COVID-19 restrictions applied by many countries worldwide, and which will limit the youth sailors to travel to the event, specially from outside from Europe.

Dear RS:X Sailors & Coaches,
Today the Hellenic Sailing Federation cancelled our 2020 RS:X Windsurfing European & Youth Worlds/European Championships in Athens, Greece, scheduled between 22-28 November 2020!It was a shocking and unexpected news and decision by them!However, we are working now with an alternative venue and we are trying to keep the same dates. Also, the intention is keep the Tokyo Olympic qualifier for the European continent at the new venue. We will announce about it very shortly!
